GOING, GOING GONE - RETIRING STAMP SETS

Well it's that time of year again when Stampin' Up! announces what Stamp Sets will be retiring.  The list is quite long this year as SU is making some changes to the 2012/13 Catalog.  It will be smaller (less pages), but we will have 2 Mini Catalogs a year that will be larger.  These mini's will contain new and trendy stuff in the market.  There will be a Holiday Mini and a Spring Mini.  But back to the retiring list -- this is only the stamp sets.  On April 25, we will get the retiring accessories list.  Remember the 2010/2012 In Colors will be retiring (Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush and Blushing Bride) so they will be on the accessories list.  If you LOVE these colors - order them now!  Because all accessories are "while supplies last".

The Big Shot has got to be one of my favorite tools.  I love using the dies, embosing folders and now the new framelit dies.  This month I featured Valentine's Day projects.  Here are the 3 we did.

 123 CLASS – Wed, Feb 1, 7 pm

Why not attend this class along with the Big Shot class?  This class is a quick one.  It is a drop in class between 7 – 9 pm.  If you only have 1 hour, you can make 2 cute simple cards for $3.  Good way to get that birthday card or thank you card made.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  RSVP by Jan. 27.

TECHNIQUE CLASS – Thur, Feb 9, 7 pm

Tonight’s class will feature 3 techniques.  You will make a card using each of the techniques and also a 6x6 page of each technique for your technique book.  Cost of the class is $15 or FREE if you place at least a $25 order (before shipping and tax).  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  RSVP by Feb 3.

 SCRAPBOOKING CLASS – Wed, Feb 15 , 7 pm

Tonight you will make a 2 page, 12x12 scrapbook layout designed around the season, holiday or occasion.  Cost is $15 for the class or the class is FREE with a $25 order (before shipping and tax).  A 12x12 page protector is included with the class.  RSVP by Feb 10.

 WOW CLASS – Mon, Feb 20, 7 pm

The class is FREE but you must purchase the featured stamp set or featured product to attend.  You will make 4 cards that you will say WOW after you get done.  They will have multiple layers, embellishments and more.  We will make these cards all together and I will step you through each card.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  The featured products this month are Mixed Bunch stamp set, Blossom punch and ½ pack of Berry Blossoms designer series paper.  Cost is $50.00 and is payable with your RSVP that is needed by Feb 3.  When you RSVP also provide the FREE SAB item you want.  WOO HOO – let Sale-A-Bration begin.

WORD PLAY – Stamp of the Quarter – Wed, Feb. 16 - 7 pm

WORD PLAY is the stamp set I have chosen to feature this quarter.  It contains 12 stamps in clear mounted that actual have a play on words.  Pg. 147 in the IBC.  We will make 4 cards each month using this stamp set in January, February and March. The first month you participate will be to purchase the stamp set (clear mounted) and the 4 projects.  Each month after that, the cost will be reduced to include some embellishments or DSP.  RSVP by Feb. 1 if this is your first month.   Cost is $35 for the first month  and includes the stamp set and all materials to make the 4 projects.  Cost for the 2^nd and 3^rd month is $20 each month and includes all materials to make the 4 projects.   Bring your own adhesive, cutter, clear blocks and scissors. 

STAMP-A-STACK – Wed, Feb. 23 – 7 pm

This class will start to restock your card inventory.  We will make 12 cards (4 each of 3 designs).  This month we will make birthday, get well and sympathy.   Bring your own adhesive, cutter, clear blocks and scissors.  Cost is $15 and includes all materials to make the cards.  RSVP by Feb. 15.

MORE SUMMER MINI SAMPLES

I just love the Tropical Party stamp set in the new Summer Mini Catalog.  I also love the look the new SU Square Lattice textured impressions embossing folder gives to create an unique background on this card.  This was cased/modified from another SU demonstrator that I saw somewhere on line - so I can't take the credit for how cute this card is.  The beach background was made using SU Watercolor Crayons.  Enjoy

Also at the 123 Class we made the following card using the Watercolor Trio stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Also used on this card was the Scallop Trim Border punch, SU Perfect Details Texturz Plate, and retiring colors.  Again, cased/modified.

Today's post using some different colors as I wanted to mix it up a bit.  Stampin' Up announced a new color revision coming in July.  Some of the colors I used on this card will be retiring.  I will be posting that info later on my blog -- so check back again.

If you've been keeping track of my blog you will remember I stated I would post some samples using the BRAND NEW - Awash with Flowers stamp set that is being featured this month.  This is a sneak peak from the new 2010/11 Catalog.  What fun I had with this stamp set and even though it is a 2-step stamp set - you can use just the outline or just the solid or both.
