TECHNIQUE TUESDAY

Technique Tuesday was a fun class and the ladies really loved or hated the new SU punches.  I struggled with the Pinking Heart Corner and Border punch.  If anyone out there has a better tutorial than SU -- please share.  I still could NOT get it to match up perfectly.  The Scalloped Trim Corner and Border punches were a snap and the ladies agreed these were much easier.

We also did a technique called Sponged Sky.  So simple and fun to do.  This would be a great technique on scrapbook pages too.

 

Stamp sets were Pendant Park and a FREE SAB set - Whimsical Words.  Card stock was Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Whisper White.  Ink was Basic Black.  Punch - Curly Label.

Sponged Sky

Create a sky in no time at all with a few dabs of your sponge.

Supplies

• Cardstock (Whisper White)
• Sponge
• Ink (Bashful Blue)
• Stamps

Step-by-Step

1.      Ink the rounded part of a sponge by pressing directly on an ink pad.

Important Hint:
Before moving on to the next step, remove extra ink by rubbing sponge on scrap paper. The soft look is achieved with very little ink.

2.      Use a circular motion to apply ink, leaving many white open spaces. Re-ink your sponge, remove excess ink and continue sponging ink randomly.

Different cardstocks will give different looks - the cardstock on the left is smooth white and on the left is textured white.

3.      Continue adding color until you have the color that you want.

4.      Finish your card using your Sponged Sky.

Scrappin All Day on Saturday, Jan. 23

I'm so excited to spend the day tomorrow with a new group of scrapbookers in Leroy.  I was asked to have a table with some Stampin' Up! samples, make-n-takes and other stuff so the scrapbookers can see what you can do with stamps, ink, paper and of course the BIG SHOT.  I also hope to have some time to work on my own scrapbook.

The other day after the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, I pulled out my scrapbook I started.  I was embarrassed as I looked through it to see how much I had not finished.  So I think tomorrow I will work on that.  I went to Haiti in 2004 on a mission trip to an orphanage in Les Cayes.  Even though Les Cayes is probably 150 miles west of Port-au-Prince - they still felt the earthquake and had injuries and damage to structure.  The orphanage's buildings were deemed unsafe and now the entire orphanage is sleeping in tents in the refugee camp on the soccer field next to the complex.  Food, water, gasoline and cash are getting less and less by the day as all the efforts are being focused on Port-au-Prince.  Here is a picture of the orphans and staff sleeping in the courtyard at the orphanage the night after the earthquake.

SCRAPBOOK PAGES

The Scrapbook Club is having fun doing a 2 page spread each month.  This month we did a "girly" theme.  Everyone used soft subtles colors and added as they wanted.  The Big Shot and other accessories were available for their use.  Here are my 2 pages.

Finally getting some pages scrapped from Convention 2008.  It is so easy to scrapbook with Stampin' Ups! Designer Series Paper, stamps and accessories.  If you'd like do a scrapbooking party, give me a call and let's get it planned for July!
