DECEMBER CLASSES AT THE BEEHIVE

Here is my December offering of classes.  Come learn how to do things with the Big Shot.  How about getting a head start on your scrapbooking with 2 designed pages ready to adhere pictures.  Always wanted to find out how they did that technique?  Try the Technique Class.

BIG SHOT CLASS – Thur, Dec 1, 7 pm

At the class you will make 2 cards and one 3D items all using the Big Shot.  The projects will be designed around the holiday, season or an occasion.  Come try out a die or folder and learn other things you can do with it.  Cost of the class is $15 or FREE if you place at least a $25 order (before shipping and tax).  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  RSVP by Nov. 27.

 

123 CLASS – Thur, Dec 1, 7 pm

Why not attend this class along with the Big Shot class?  This class is a quick one.  It is a drop in class between 7 – 9 pm.  If you only have 1 hour, you can make 2 cute simple cards for $3.  Good way to get that birthday card or thank you card made.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  RSVP by Nov. 27.

 

TECHNIQUE CLASS – Tues, Dec 6, 7 pm

Tonight’s class will feature 3 techniques.  You will make a card using each of the techniques and also a 6x6 page of each technique for your technique book.  Cost of the class is $15 or FREE if you place at least a $25 order (before shipping and tax).  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  RSVP by Dec. 1.

 

SCRAPBOOKING CLASS – Mon, Dec 12, 7 pm

Another new class I will be offering every month.  Tonight you will make a 2 page, 12x12 scrapbook layout designed around the season, holiday or occasion.  Cost is $15 for the class or the class is FREE with a $25 order (before shipping and tax).  A 12x12 page protector is included with the class.  RSVP by Dec 5.

 

WOW CLASS – Tues, Dec 20, 7 pm

This is a new class I will be offering every month.  The class is FREE but you must purchase the featured stamp set or featured product to attend.  You will make 4 cards that you will say WOW after you get done.  They will have multiple layers, embellishments and more.  We will make these cards all together and I will step you through each card.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  The featured product this month is the Simply Scrapping Kit – Tea Time.  Cost is $25.50 and is payable with your RSVP that is needed by Dec 5.

 

STAMP-A-STACK  – Thur, Dec  29, 7 pm

This class will be offered quarterly to get you stocked up on cards for birthdays, get well, thinking of you, sympathy and upcoming holidays.  This will be a variety of 20 cards (4 each of 5 designs).  It will not include envelopes, but you can purchase a pack of 40 for $6.50 (plus tax & s/h).  Cost is $20.  Please RSVP by Dec. 20.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.

123 CLASS or YOUR PROJECT NIGHT – Thur, May 5, 7 pm

MY DIGITAL STUDIO – Tue, May 31, 7 pm

Pg. 21 in the new Summer Mini features 2 different versions of My Digital Studio which is a digital designing software to create cards, scrapbook pages and much more.  I went to a 3 hour class on MDS and only touch the bare surface of what this software can do.  It is AMAZING!  I will show you how to design a card using this software and some of the basic functions.  So if you are interested to see the software in action with a very beginner at the computer, stop over for a preview.  There is no charge for this.  Please RSVP by May 23 so I have time to clean out my craft room.  Hopefully by then I’ll also have my computer back from the fix it shop and reloaded with software to demonstrate My Digital Studio.

GET READY FOR HALLOWEEN - Mon. Sept 27 - 7 pm

Decorating for Halloween is 2nd only to Christmas.  People love to decorate for this holiday which kicks off the holiday season - Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Tonight we will start with some decorations and then in October we will have another evening to do some more decorations.  Supplies included in this class will be used in the October class.  You will need to bring an 8.5" x 11" document frame (black frame) to do this first project.  Supplies included in the $30 class fee are:  Spooky Things Decor Elements, Nite Owl DSP, and all materials (except the frame) to make an eerie framed piece, 2 cards and 2 candy wrapper treat boxes.  Get 10% off any other Halloween items ordered at the class.  RSVP ASAP.

MORE HALLOWEEN – Mon, Oct. 4 – 7 pm

In the Holiday Mini catalog are 2 different Designer Fabrics.  What do you do with fabric without sewing it?  Well, tonight I will show you how to use the Big Shot to make a floral embellishment, a Circle Brooch, and 2 cards with fabric.  You will not want to miss this class to see what you can create with Designer Fabric.  Bring your own adhesive, cutter, clear blocks and scissors.  Cost is $15 and includes your choice of the Deck the Halls Designer Fabric or Candy Cane Christmas fabric.  RSVP by Oct. 10 with your fabric choice.  If you want both fabrics – add $10.

Tonight we are going to learn 2 different techniques to watercolor.  One is Landscape and the other one is Direct to Paper.  We will use watercolor paper, embossing, the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and the Aqua Painters.  Cost is $5 and includes a all the materials to make 2 beautiful cards.  We will be using Nature’s Nest stamp set (pg. 111).  Bring your own adhesive, cutter and scissors.  RSVP by June 1.

ACCESSORY OF THE MONTH – COGS DOUBLE PUNCH  – Mon, June 14, 7 pm

In the Summer Mini – on pg. 23 – Extra Large Cogs Double Punch.  Tonight we will make 3 cards using this punch and will be geared toward Father’s Day.  Bring your own adhesive, cutter and scissors.  Cost is $22 and includes the punch and the materials.  RSVP by June 1.            

FEATURED QUARTERLY STAMP SET, “AWASH WITH FLOWERS”, – Tue, June 22, 7 pm

Awash With Flowers - Sample 3

Here is another sample to wet your appetite to purchase this stamp.  It will only be available in April as a sneak peak from the new 2010/11 Catalog.  You then will have to wait until July to purchase it from the big book.

This sample only uses the outline pieces and I used markers to color in where I wanted.

GOING GREEN IDEAS

We had a ton of fun at the Going Green class last week.  We used up a lot of scraps of paper and because the class was on St. Patty's day - we had some special goodies. Here are some samples of items we made.

Remember the Big Shot can cut through much more than paper.  Only about 50+ different materials.  Here I used roof flashing that I bought at the home improvement store.  I was so excited that it actually came in a 6" width so all I had to do was cut it with tin snips to the length of the die.  You can use pop cans or other thin metal to make this little candle holder.  This has got to be one of my favorite dies for the Big Shot - Flower Folds.  It makes 4 different size flowers.  Here we used the 3 largest and slightly bent the petals to create a cup to hold the candle.  Here is what we did with the smallest flower.

A little designer series paper (from the SAB pack), a flower from the stitched felt Sweet Pea pack and glued a pin on the back to make a cute jewelry pin to wear.  Quick, easy and look how cute and we used all the flowers from the Flower Folds die.
