HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

Where better to celebrate our nation's independence day than on the East Coast.  I'm writing this at my brother's kitchen table and our plans today are to go out of Glouster Mass. for a whale watching tour.  Can't wait, but need to get some dramaine.  Hope we see some whales.  I've never seen whales except at Sea World.  Had a whole family dinner last night.  Got to meet Gavin for the first time.  I approve :)  Met Jacob's friend from Boston as she came out to pick him up.  Jacob is spending July 4th in Boston/Cambridge.  He'll have FUN!.

What Am I Doing?

Just a quick note - been busy with Ski Patrol stuff the last few weekends.  That is done now until the snow flies and Mother Nature turns cold enough.  This weekend I've had some time to do some stamping and getting ready for upcoming classes.

I'll post samples later after the classes.  While I'm getting ready for the classes, I've also been watching my son's dog - Carl.  He is a good dog, but very hairy and not something that tolerate well.  My eyes are itching and I'm not cleaning my house until he goes back to Jacob's.  Here is a picture of Carl.  He is a husky/golden mx.  A very good dog and minds quite well.  He has one husky eye and one golden eye. 

SHARING CONVENTION

How do you describe convention?  Lot's of people SHARING WHAT THEY LOVE!!  Here are a couple pictures of the crowds.

Friday night my roommates (Amy & Laurie) took the bus tour to Stampin' Up!'s headquarters in Riverton, Utah.  About a 20 minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City. 

 

This was taken from the bus window, but it gives you a look of the building and the mountains in the background.  Beautiful.  It was designed to look like a school building.

 
Look at all those stamps!!!  That is the distribution center.  Everything is shipped out of this building.  This is Amy (L) and Laurie (R) - my roommates.  See those cute bags?  Laurie is holding a reusable shopping back (some of my customers will be getting these as incentives) and Amy is holding our convention bag.

The 3 of us standing by the Stampin' Up! rock that adorns both sides of the entrance to headquarters.  Aren't we a motley crew?  I had never met these girls before Wednesday afternoon.  We were like 3 peas in a pod and had a blast together.  Friends for life!!!!

Convention is something everyone should experience.  Join my team and be a part of it next year!  Ask me how!
 

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY

Today we are all a little bit Irish.  So the top of the mornin' to you.  May the luck of the Irish be with you today and may the sun always shine on you.

Scrappin All Day on Saturday, Jan. 23

I'm so excited to spend the day tomorrow with a new group of scrapbookers in Leroy.  I was asked to have a table with some Stampin' Up! samples, make-n-takes and other stuff so the scrapbookers can see what you can do with stamps, ink, paper and of course the BIG SHOT.  I also hope to have some time to work on my own scrapbook.

The other day after the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, I pulled out my scrapbook I started.  I was embarrassed as I looked through it to see how much I had not finished.  So I think tomorrow I will work on that.  I went to Haiti in 2004 on a mission trip to an orphanage in Les Cayes.  Even though Les Cayes is probably 150 miles west of Port-au-Prince - they still felt the earthquake and had injuries and damage to structure.  The orphanage's buildings were deemed unsafe and now the entire orphanage is sleeping in tents in the refugee camp on the soccer field next to the complex.  Food, water, gasoline and cash are getting less and less by the day as all the efforts are being focused on Port-au-Prince.  Here is a picture of the orphans and staff sleeping in the courtyard at the orphanage the night after the earthquake.

RAD has been AWESOME

Wow what a great 4 days of stamping, sharing, laughing and eating.  The food has been amazing and plentiful.  The ideas and sharing have been outstanding and the laughter and good times will be ever lasting memories.  Here is my name tag to mark my spot.  I have so much to share -- so stay tune for future posts, classes and much more.

I'm At RAD

I made it out of Cadillac with our 7" of snow.  Gary drove me down to Detroit and my flight was just a little late. Got into Baltimore about 6:30 and met up with Jan and Kim to head north to Jan's house.  We are still up and it's after midnight.  I'll post some things tomorrow, but now I need to go get some beauty sleep.  Don't forget the 12 Days of Christmas sale starts Friday!

Here is where I'm going with 18 other women tomorrow  morning --  we will be golfing, golfing, golfing. 

Yes those are deer.  We will be golfing 36 holes on Friday and Saturday on Drummond Island Michigan.  It is an island to the farthest point east in the upper peninsula in Michigan.  We have to drive our cars onto a ferry to be taken over to the island.  Deer are very numerous on the golf course and they could care less that you are there.  I hope we don't see any bear tho.  This is my 4th or 5th time on this trip.  It will be so much fun.  We will laugh, laugh, golf, golf, laugh and probably have some refreshments.

I'll have more pictures when I get back.  Plus I'll have some cards and other items to share.

REMARKABLE HOT RETREAT

WOW - what a great time we had at my upline's (Jan Wakeland) retreat last weekend in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  Image around 100 women in a huge room stamping, scrapping and just having a great time.  The creativity in the room was amazing and I have so many great ideas to share with you over the next few months.  Halloween, fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas samples and ideas galore.  I learned new ideas for the Big Shot, new techniques, 3D items and some awesome scrapbook pages.  You won't want to miss any of my classes.  Better still - book your own party and I'll come share some of these great items with you and your guests

Saturday night we had a Safari Party.  We were lead to the buffet by lions, tigers, zebras and giraffes.  At each place setting was a hat, sunglasses and a bracelet.  We donned our attire and had a great evening.  Here is a pictures of myself, Joy and Robyn all decked out.
