GOING, GOING GONE - RETIRING STAMP SETS

Well it's that time of year again when Stampin' Up! announces what Stamp Sets will be retiring.  The list is quite long this year as SU is making some changes to the 2012/13 Catalog.  It will be smaller (less pages), but we will have 2 Mini Catalogs a year that will be larger.  These mini's will contain new and trendy stuff in the market.  There will be a Holiday Mini and a Spring Mini.  But back to the retiring list -- this is only the stamp sets.  On April 25, we will get the retiring accessories list.  Remember the 2010/2012 In Colors will be retiring (Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush and Blushing Bride) so they will be on the accessories list.  If you LOVE these colors - order them now!  Because all accessories are "while supplies last".

CREATING AT THE BEEHIVE - JUNE 2011 CLASSES

June is the last month in the Stampin' Up! year.  The big book will end and a new book with wonderful new items will begin July 1st.  So that means the Retiring stamp sets and accessories will be announced June 1st.  So check my blog often to see the retired list and then contact me to place your orders for those soon to be gone forever items.  I will be emailing those customers on my mailing list both the class schedule and the retired lists, but check here for updates as to what is no longer available.  Order early to make sure you get those items you "got to have".

Here is my class offerings for June.

123 CLASS or YOUR PROJECT NIGHT – Thur, June 2, 7 pm

123 CLASS – If you only have an hour or less, this is a great time for you to stop over between 7 and 9 pm.  1 hour, 2 cards for only $3.00.  RSVP by June 1.  This month we will make 2 cards using new items from the Summer Mini Catalog. 

YOUR PROJECT NIGHT – This is a night for you to bring your projects to work on with friends.  You may use my non-consumables with SU products purchased from me.  A small amount of product will be available for sale.  No charge.  Please RSVP by June 1.  Please bring your own adhesive, cutter, scissors and clear blocks to all classes.

 FOLD ‘EM CARDS – Mon, June 6, 7 pm

Tonight’s class we will make 3 cards that will be folded.  Bring your scoring blade for your cutter and your bone folder so you can create 3 cards using different folds.  Cost for the 3 cards and all materials is $6.  Please RSVP by June 3.  Please bring your own adhesive, cutter, scissors and clear blocks to all classes.

PRETTY POSTAGE – Mon. June 13, 7 pm

Tonight’s class will feature the PRETTY POSTAGE stamp set from the Summer Mini, pg. 11 and the Postage Stamp Punch.   The cost of the class includes the Postage Stamp Punch.  We will make 4 cards using the punch and complimentary stamp set.   Cost is $20 for the class and includes the punch and all materials to make 4 cards.  RSVP by June 3.  Please bring your own adhesive, cutter, scissors and clear blocks to all classes.

 FOND FAREWELL – Tue, June 21, 7 pm

 TRIPLE LAYER PUNCHES – Mon, June 27, 7 pm

Pg. 6 in the new Summer Mini features 2 different TRIPLE LAYER PUNCHES.  We will use both to make some cute cards.  These new punches offer lots of variety to create cards and much more.  Please RSVP by June 15.

Would You Want This Craft Room?

I just spent the weekend at my friend Laurie Krauss down in lower Michigan.  I've heard about her NEW craft room and all I can say is WOW - I Want It!!!  Laurie is #44 demonstrator of the year in the US.  She is a great person and I had such a blast at her place.  We stamped, played, made jewelry and discussed ways to run our SU business.  Also, attending the weekend event was her SAM (Service Account Manager) from Stampin' Up! - Maxine Conrad.  Max is a SU demonstrator too and has a very successful business in Utah.  She did a presentation on Saturday discussing her business and how she advertises and about organization and time management.  She had some excellent ideas and some I will be putting into action.  What a great weekend!!!!!  Thank you to Laurie and Max for this opportunity.  Now Laurie's craft room.

Tonight we are going to learn 2 different techniques to watercolor.  One is Landscape and the other one is Direct to Paper.  We will use watercolor paper, embossing, the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and the Aqua Painters.  Cost is $5 and includes a all the materials to make 2 beautiful cards.  We will be using Nature’s Nest stamp set (pg. 111).  Bring your own adhesive, cutter and scissors.  RSVP by June 1.

HAPPY MOTHER's DAY

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and mothers to be.  It is our special day and let them pamper you.  I had the chance to go to a day/evening Stampin' Up! event near Holland Michigan this weekend and had a ton of fun.  Jackie Bolhuis was the demonstrator hostess and the special speaker was Jill Olson who has a demonstrator number of 5.  (Yes she was the 5th demonstrator to start with SU.)  I will be posting some of the items we made during the Make N Take and also the quilting items we made with the Big Shot on Friday night.  Way too many cool ideas.  I hope you will stop back often and see what can be done with the Big Shot and fabric.  Now to hit the fabric stores :)

Now this sounds like it should be featuring St. Patrick stuff -- well that is far from what it will be.  It's Going Green after the theme of recycling, reusing, rejuvenating and finding other uses for things.  You won't be disappointed by this blog tour and I'm excited to see what others have come up with.  I'm trying to think outside the box and reuse things.  So check back on March 4th for my first post.

CRAFT SHOWING COMING

Sorry it's been a while since I posted and I haven't even sent out my November.  I've been getting ready for my craft show which is coming up soon.  So if you need something to do on Saturday or Sunday, Nov. 14 & 15 -- come out to the Wexford Civic Center for the Craft Show.  I'm booth #36.  Stop bye and say HI!  I've got some great gifts ranging in price from $5 to $40.

HEADING TO PENNSYLVANIA

WooHoo - I'm so excited.  I'm leaving Thursday morning for 3 full days of stamping and scrapbooking fun in Harrisburg, PA.  There will be close to 100 women at he event and it will feature SU products and upcoming items in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I will come home with sooooo many ideas that I will be sharing with you between now and the holidays.

Watch next week for my September class schedule.  We will start the 3 months of Christmas card making in September.  What a fun way to get a head start on your Christmas cards.  Also I'm planning some holiday gift making classes and more.  So watch for my newsletter, email and blog postings.
