JUNE CLASS SCHEDULE AT THE BEEHIVE

OPEN HOUSE/NEW CATALOG – Fri, June 1 and Saturday, June 2

Stop in either Friday night or Saturday to pick up your 2012/13 Catalog and make some cute projects featuring some of the new items from the catalog.  You can get a FREE catalog by placing a $50 order at the Open House (if you reserved one already – it will be available).  Snacks and beverages will be served.  Bring a new friend and you will get to make a special project.  RSVP by May 25 so I have enough product available.

SOMETHING SPECIAL – Thur, June 7, 7 pm

This class will feature something different each month such as the Big Shot, Simple but Elegant, Seasonal, or something new.  It will consist of 3 projects.  For June we will make 3 Simple But Elegant designed cards using the new In Colors.  Cost of the class is $10.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  RSVP by June 4.

 SCRAPBOOKING CLASS – Mon, June 11, 7 pm

Tonight you will make a 2 page, 12x12 scrapbook layout designed around the season, holiday or occasion.  Cost is $10 for the class or the class is FREE with a $25 order placed at the class (before shipping and tax).  A 12x12 page protector is included with the class.  RSVP by June 7.

 PUNCH IT OUT – Mon, June 19, 7 pm

Tonight’s class will feature a new punch in the 2012/13 catalog – ELEGANT BUTTERFLY.  We will make 3 projects.  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  Cost is $20 and includes the 3 projects and the punch.  RSVP by June 2.

 TECHNIQUE CLASS – Thur, June 28, 7 pm

Tonight’s class will feature 3 techniques.  You will make a card using each of the techniques and also a 6x6 page of each technique for your technique book.  Cost of the class is $15 or FREE if you place at least a $25 order the night of the class (before shipping and tax).  Bring your own adhesive, scissors, paper cutter and clear blocks.  Cost is $20 and includes the 3 projects and the punch.  RSVP by June 24.

TECHNIQUE CLASS SAMPLES - APRIL

I love the challenge of TECHNIQUE class.  It challenges me to come up with techniques and then apply them to cards.  April featured 3 different techniques.  

This technique I called 'custom background".  It used a variety of techniques.  The card is cased (thank you).  This card used the following techniques:  masking, sponging, and stamping off.  Time consuming, but the results were beautiful.  Do you agree?

The technique for this card was "embossed resist".  Notice it on the butterfly.  Cased with modifications (thank you)

The technique for this card was "layered markers".  By using different colors, you can layer the colors so it looks like you watercolored the image.  Again the card was cased and modified (thank you).

If you'd like to try some different techniques, then join in next month (May) for the TECHNIQUE CLASS.  You will love it.

GOING, GOING GONE - RETIRING STAMP SETS

Well it's that time of year again when Stampin' Up! announces what Stamp Sets will be retiring.  The list is quite long this year as SU is making some changes to the 2012/13 Catalog.  It will be smaller (less pages), but we will have 2 Mini Catalogs a year that will be larger.  These mini's will contain new and trendy stuff in the market.  There will be a Holiday Mini and a Spring Mini.  But back to the retiring list -- this is only the stamp sets.  On April 25, we will get the retiring accessories list.  Remember the 2010/2012 In Colors will be retiring (Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizazz, Concord Crush and Blushing Bride) so they will be on the accessories list.  If you LOVE these colors - order them now!  Because all accessories are "while supplies last".

You can order any of these retiring stamp sets through my website or by emailing me or calling.  I'd be happy to place your order for you.

Also, don't forget the Summer Smooch special that is a sneak peak to the 2012/13 Catalog.  These items are only available in April and then you will have to wait until June.  There are 2 items (decor stencil and fabric brads) that are only available in April.

APRIL CLASSES AT THE BEEHIVE

The first week of April is Spring Break up here in Cadillac.  Gary and I will be out west skiing (yes they have snow), so no classes that week.  But 3 weeks left in April is jammed packed.  Here are the classes:

WOW CLASS - February

WOW - you missed a great class if you didn't attend.  The featured WOW products for February were the Mixed Bunch stamp set, Blossom Punch and 1/2 pack of Berry Blossoms DSP.  This order was $50, so each participant got a FREE SAB product too.  We made 4 WOW cards and used some new products too.  Here are the 2 of them.  Check back later for the other 2.

MARCH CLASSES AT THE BEEHIVE

Well Winter hasn't been much like Winter.  Yesterday was like a Spring Day.  March continues to be the same.  Some days are like winter, but more are like spring.  Lots of classes to pick from and I hope you will sign up for one or 2.  Remember Sale-A-Bration continues through March.  Also a great promotion to become a member of my SU Team.  Ask me how!!!!

The Big Shot has got to be one of my favorite tools.  I love using the dies, embosing folders and now the new framelit dies.  This month I featured Valentine's Day projects.  Here are the 3 we did.

Milk Carton die and the new Hearts Collection Framelit Die and Fashionable Hearts Embosslit die.

Th Adorning Accents edgelit dies and embossing folders.  Also the Everyday Enchantment DSP from SAB.

We had our Christmas yesterday with our son.  Jacob had to work today so I've got the day to catch up and pick up.  It's snowing here and we have a white Christmas.  It's been a very slow start to the winter season.

123 CLASS - December

Again 123 stands for - 1 hour of time (or less), 2 cards for $3.  This class is always quick and easy.  The cards are themed around the season, holiday or whatever sparks my interest.  Here are the two cards we made this month.  Why don't you join us next month for this quick and inexpensive class.  It will always be paired up with another class, but you can just do 1 or the other or both.

This month's class was themed around snowmen and we used the Snow Much Fun stamp set.

This card was Real Red and Very Vanilla cs.  Holly Berry Bouquet DSP, Real Red 5/8" Satin ribbon, markers and black classic ink.  Simple, fun and oh so cute.

 How cute is this rolly polly snowman?  Whisper White and Baja Breeze cs, black classic ink, markers, Northern Flurry embossing folder and Vanilla Simmer Smooch Spritz (hard to see).  You can add some rhinestones for more bling.

All cards were inspired by other great SU Demonstrators. 

BIG SHOT CLASS SAMPLES

The Big Shot class went faster this month.  We only did 2 cards and 1 3D item.  That left time to do the 123 Class if they had RSVP'd for it.

The first card used all Big Shot dies.  Garden green, real red, whisper white and early espresso cs.  Holly Berry Bouquet DSP, Dasher and  Four the Holidays stamp sets, 3/8" Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched ribbon, snow burst textured embossing folder

   

This card used fabric.  This was the first time I've tried fabric in one of our embosslit dies.  It worked so slick and the others were impressed too.  Always Articoke, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla cs, Deck the Halls fabric, Scaloped Heart of Hearts embosslit die, Pinking Heart Border punch, Hand-Penned Holidays stamp set.

Last item is our 3D item.  Isn't this an awesome ornament using the lattice die.  I might have to make some more of these for my tree.
